Historical background

Thornewood is an English Gothic estate in what is now Lakewood, Washington. It consists of three buildings, including Thornewood Castle. Each building is privately owned by different parties and include the great hall or "castle", the former garage or carriage house, and the former lodge house. The central building is now called Thornewood Castle or Thornewood Castle Hotel.
